1 Dead, 1 Injured in New Year’s Shooting in Gloucester County: Following a gunshot early on Sunday morning in the Hayes neighborhood in Gloucester County, one person is dead, another person is hurt, and a teenager is now facing charges. According to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, a caller reported a shooting in the 7800 block of Guinea Road at roughly 1:05 a.m. to the county’s Emergency Communications Center.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, when deputies arrived, they discovered a huge crowd outside a house and a man who appeared to have been shot dead outside. The criminal investigations branch of the sheriff’s office arrived at the site and started looking for witnesses and tangible proof. 15-year-old Corbin Winnington was named as a suspect in the shooting after an investigation. Before the arrival of law authorities, Winnington left the area.
The adolescent has been charged with malicious wounding and using a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to the Sheriff’s Office, which also stated petitions and a detention order had been filed against him.
