A shooting occurred on Monday at an apartment complex in southern Indiana, leaving one person dead. Around 10:20 a.m., Jeffersonville police were summoned to Hallmark At Jeffersonville on Paddle Wheel Court. in response to a report of gunfire at the complex.
Officers arrived and discovered a victim who had been shot and murdered. After securing the area, police stayed at the property for several hours to conduct an investigation. Due to concerns for their safety, a few neighbours declined to be interviewed on video.
Naeim Torkian, a neighbour, told WAVE News that he heard loud noises and went outside. Torkian claimed to be acquainted with the victim’s family and was horrified to learn of her passing. Torkian stated, “I used to work with them.” “[They are] an incredibly pleasant and hospitable family. That was the last thing on my mind when I considered why she was here. I was just like, “Man, why?” when I saw her here and she asked why she was there. ’”
When several local kids arrived home from school around 3:30 p.m., officers were still on the scene. After the fall break, today is the first day of school, and the bus stop for the students is over there, Torkian stated. “And they are always playing outdoors.
