Well now that the summer movie season is over it’s time to start looking at what’s coming up this fall, and it better be way better then the summer because that was just disappointing for all of us. I hated going to the movie theater and saying “Wow there sure is nothing to watch this week, let’s try next week.”
Sully is a biographical drama film about the US Airways Flight 1549 and Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger. The film will mark the first collaboration between director Clint Eastwood and Tom Hanks and will be released on September 9.
- Blair Witch
After 17 years since the release of the original film, director Adam Wingard gives us something to be very excited about. The film has gained a lot of buzz since its premiere at this year’s comic-con. Blair Witch is set to have its wide release on September 16.
- The Magnificent Seven
Ahhhh another remake, has hollywood run out of ideas? With that being said, I’m still excited to see this film because I do love westerns, and western remakes have been kind to us with films like 3:10 to Yuma and True Grit not only being great remakes but overall great films and The Magnificent Seven has a great cast. Let’s hope they do not disappoint us.
It’s been a long while since we’ve seen Oliver Stone do a film like this, and that’s what gets us movie junkies very excited about this film. That and the fact you got one of the best actors of our generation playing the title character. The film will open September 16
- The Birth of a Nation
The Birth of a Nation has been getting a lot buzz since its screening at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, with many people predicting it will be the front runner at the next Oscars ceremony. The film is the directorial debut of actor Nate Parker and includes a cast of Armie Hammer, Aja Naomi King, Jackie Earle Haley, Penelope Ann Miller and Gabrielle Union.
- Doctor Strange
Doctor Who? Oh Doctor Strange, I was excited for a second anyways. Benedict Cumberbatch stars in this brand new Marvel film that has many comic book movie nerds very excited and very curious on how Marvel are going to bring this super hero to the big screen.
Arrival is probably my most anticipated movie, the film is directed by Denis Villeneuve who has directed many fine films such as Maelström, Polytechnique, Incendies, Prisoners, and Sicario. Anyways the point is the guy knows how to make a very good film and that’s what makes movie junkies very excited about this film also the cast is top class with Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker all starring in the film.
- Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them
YAYYYY!! Yes, this year we’re going back into the wonderful wizarding world with this new film Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them. It’s been 5 years since we’ve been there and David Yates who directed the last 4 Harry Potter films brings us back with J.K. Rowling in her screenwriting debut. Many people can’t wait to see this film and i’m one them
- Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Ahhh another one these Star Wars film. Listen I’m not a huge Star Wars fan so I’m very excited for this film. With that being said, I know there’s a whole lot of people who can’t wait for this film, and I understand because you have a very good director in Gareth Edwards and great cast led by Felicity Jones, so congrats Star Wars fans looks like you’re in good hands.
- Assassin’s Creed
Well, we have another video game adaptation. If you look at the history of video game adaptations, it doesn’t look very pretty and that’s why people are looking forward to this film, to see if it sill going to be bad even with a good director [Justin Kurzel] and pretty cast with Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard in the leads.
- Manchester By the Sea
I simply love great movies, so when I hear a lot of praise coming from a film I get very excited and in this case Manchester By the Sea happens to be that film. Led by Casey Affleck the cast seems to be top class with supporting roles going to Michelle Williams and Kyle Chandler. The film is set to have for a limited release on November 18, 2016 before expanding in mid-December.
