Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the Comeback for Infinity Ward?

By Meny Martinez

On Friday, November 4th, the gaming Behemoth Call of Duty is releasing their next edition in the Call of Duty franchise with Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, and if you pre-ordered you also get Modern Warfare Remastered. If you aren’t familiar with the Call of Duty franchise, then you should know that CoD is made by three companies in a yearly rotation: Infinity Ward (who made Infinite Warfare), Treyarch, and Sledgehammer. This year is Infinity Ward’s redemption year after making what some say was the worst CoD ever: Call of Duty Ghosts. In my personal opinion, Ghosts was not that bad (mainly because I was really good at it). Get on my level, kids. Especially you, Trey Crosby.

Infinite Warfare the space age CoD hasn’t gotten off to a good start after becoming the second most disliked video on YouTube. The issue for most fans is that they wanted boots on the ground and a modern warfare type game. There is no double jumping space age combat, but many pro CoD players have been saying that introducing Modern Warfare Remastered was the smartest thing CoD has done in recent years. Reviews show that Modern Warfare Remastered has had more players playing on online than Infinite Warfare.

Honestly, as long as you’re just a casual gamer, picking which CoD to play really shouldn’t matter. You might find Modern Warfare Remastered a lot easier due to its movements, but Infinite Warfare and its jet packing/thrust jumping shouldn’t be that different from last years CoD Black Ops 3. Both games should be enjoyable, one maybe more than another, but good thing there’s two games this year.
