Best Head Coach Options In The NFL

By Luke Boze

With the off season approaching some teams are looking for new head coaches. Each team has different needs at head coach, some teams need a coach that can completely rebuild a team, others need a coach that can bring a new look to an old team. They need someone that can bring their team to the top and help them stay there. Everyone who hires a new coach wants them to have the type of success that coaches like Bill Belichick, Bill Walsh, or Vince Lombardi had, but that hardly ever happens. So, in light of teams looking for coaches to have success, here are the best NFL head coaching candidates.

Vance Joseph– Joseph was the Defensive Coordinator for the Miami Dolphins for the 2016 season. He helped the Dolphins get to the playoffs for the 2016 season. Joseph played football at the college and pro levels as a quarterback, running back, and defensive back. Joseph was just hired as the Head Coach for the Denver Broncos for the 2017 season.vancejosephKyle Shanahan– Shanahan has coached for the Houston Texans, Cleveland Browns, and Washington Redskins, he is now the offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons. Shanahan helped lead the Falcons to an 11-5 record in 2016 and he has gotten them to the NFC conference title game where they are looking to beat the Green Bay Packers to advance to the Super Bowl.Falcons FootballRex Ryan– Ryan was the previous Head Coach of the Buffalo Bills and he wasn’t very successful. However, Ryan is a great coach when he is provided with some sort of talent. He would be a good fit with a team that has young developing players that have lots of talent.usatsi_rex_111015Josh McDaniels– McDaniels is primed for a career as a head coach. He is the current offensive coordinator of the Patriots and it has obviously been working for him and the Patriots. He has been coaching under Bill Belichick for a while now and has definitely learned from him. He could bring success to a struggling team like the Jaguars.josh-mcdanielsSean Payton– Payton already has a head coaching job, but he is nearing the end of his contract and the Saints haven’t had enough success to retain him. He is a great coach that just needs a new start in a different city with different players. I think that is what would be best for Sean Payton and he could have even more success.sean-payton-06

There are many more candidates that could fill head coaching vacancies. Teams that don’t have a head coach have so many options, but these coaches are some of the top candidates. If any teams sign one of these coaches they will have success.
