Next Monday on May 1st, the art show at McDonald County High School will take place.
At 6:30 p.m., the art show will open for public view. Shortly after, at 7:00, awards will be announced and the program will begin.
At 8:00 p.m., students can take their displayed artwork home.
This art show will feature different categories, including drawing, painting, mixed media, and charcoal. The pieces will display just how much artistic talent there is in our art classes here at the high school.
Students work hard every day with techniques like watercolor, charcoal, pencil, and even graphic design. The art show even features the accomplishments of students that have created their pieces in class (although with so much detail, students often work on their art at home). Teachers Mrs. Bergen, Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. Walthall do an outstanding job with technique and help students channel the artist inside.
Additionally, students will travel to the Big 8 Art Show, which is Friday, April 28th. Contestants travel to view the show. 120 pieces go to the Big 8, and it will be held in Cassville this year. We should be so proud of our fellow classmates who are able to be a part of this awesome opportunity!
Come stop by the MCHS 2017 Art Show on Monday, May 1st, to see more amazing artwork!
