Our Super Secretary

By Alex Guadarrama

Have you ever showed up to class late or been called up to the office? If so, chances are you’ve probably met Jessica. A majority of the students here know Jessica, and if you don’t you’re missing out. She’s the secretary here at our school. She has been here since my freshman year and I’m really thankful that she works here.

This is Jessica!
Jessica is an amazing person. I’ve known her for quite some time now and let me tell you she’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever come to know. She has the ability to put a smile on the face of students, just one of her many superpowers. I believe that Jessica is one of the most under-appreciated employees here and that’s why I’ve decided to interview her.

She’s unaware that I took this.
Q: How much do you love your job here? Do you like working here at the high school or do you wish that you were still at Pineville?

Jessica: I really do love my job. It has been rewarding working with older students, being a listener, a friend, or mom-like figure when needed. I am quite thankful for the years I worked at Pineville, but I really enjoy working at MCHS. I like the spirit, atmosphere, and the fast pace of high school life.

Q: Every time I’m in the office, you make it a good experience because you’re such a kind person. How do you keep such a positive attitude at work?

J: If I make your trip to the office a pleasant one, then I feel like I am doing my job well. We all have our off days, but for the most part, I try to treat others the way I would like to be treated. I also try to be mentally strong and positive by focusing on all things positive and not letting the negative get me down.

Q: What is your favorite thing about working here at our school?

J: The students.

As you can see Jessica loves her job, and hopefully, you will show her the appreciation that she deserves the next time you are in the office.
