“I always wondered why somebody didn’t do something about that. Then I realized I was somebody.” -Lilly Tomlin
By Jacob Stone
These words by Lilly Tomlin are some of the most important words that I think anyone could ever read. I always get on Facebook and see posts about things that happen and how things should change, but there’s no call to action, no way to help them change the problem they are complaining about.
The problem I’ve noticed is not that people don’t want change ( because I know plenty that do); it’s that nobody wants to work for the change. I see lots of great points and arguments, but there is no point in words without action, actions speak louder than words. A good example of is Martin Luther King Jr. because he not only had a dream, he had the means to live his dream. He didn’t just speak about his dream; he lived it and saw it all the way through. Now, he is one of the biggest figures in American history.
The point I’m trying to make is that if one man acting on a problem can change the course of history, then so can you. You can be the difference, and start a spark. After all it only takes one spark to start a fire.
