According to deputies, a three-vehicle collision near Grand Rapids resulted in five injuries. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon just before 3 p.m. on Lake Michigan Drive close to Sessions Drive, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
A 2013 Chevrolet Impala, according to deputies, was travelling east on Lake Michigan Drive when it abruptly changed lanes to avoid a vehicle in front of it slowing down to make a turn.
The Impala struck another eastbound car as it changed lanes. According to deputies, the Impala then lost control and went into the opposing lane, striking a westbound GMC pickup truck.
According to the sheriff’s office, the collision injured five people, at least one child, who was then brought to hospitals. Their wounds range in severity from mild to severe. Following the crash, Sessions Drive near Lake Michigan Drive was closed for a while but is now open again.
