55-year-old Man Slain on Providence Boulevard Identified by Police

According to CPD, the individual struck by a car on Providence Boulevard has passed away from his wounds.

Update, 6:55 p.m.: While moving slowly, traffic is going through the area.

Update, 6:05 p.m.: Past Dover Crossing, southbound traffic is backed up. Beyond Riverside Drive and Kraft Street intersection, there is a backup in northbound traffic.

On Friday night, a car struck a pedestrian on Providence Boulevard. According to Clarksville Police spokesman Scott Beaubien, the collision happened at 5:10 p.m. on Providence near D Street. Providence’s southbound lanes were blocked, and traffic was being rerouted onto Oak Street.

The status of the pedestrian who was taken to Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville has not been made public. Until the road can be cleaned, drivers are encouraged to take an alternate route.
