Greg Steube of Florida is making “excellent progress” after sustaining “many critical injuries” in an accident on his Sarasota property Wednesday afternoon.
AlthCongressmanngressman is still in the hospital. According to a tweet from his office, he was transferred out of the intensive care unit Thursday afternoon. The tweet stated, “The Steube family appreciates the outpouring of well wishes and prayers.” Rep. Steube was taken from the intensive care unit this afternoon. He continues to receive excellent medical treatment in the hospital.
His office tweeted on Thursday morning that Steube had spent the previous night in the intensive care unit and that he “was knocked about 25 feet down off a ladder while chopping tree limbs.” Steube’s injuries “are currently under assessment, but not life-threatening at this time,” the earlier statement added.

2018 saw Steube’s initial election to the US House of Representatives. In November, he easily won reelection to a third term as representative of Florida’s reliably Republican 17th Congressional District.
