The Bidens started taking trips to Nantucket at Thanksgiving when they began dating, according to Jill Biden’s autobiography “Where the Light Enters.” She claimed that the former chief of staff for Mr Biden suggested Nantucket, where they stayed in a cottage by the water.
For the following forty years, “Nantucket Thanksgiving became our tradition,” Jill wrote. With a few exceptions, we have travelled there every year since developing customs that have become essential to our family. In actuality, the late Bidens’ son Beau proposed to his wife Hallie at the yearly Nantucket tree lighting in 2001, and the two later wed at St. Mary’s Church in the town of Nantucket.
The first Thanksgiving following Beau’s passing in 2015, Jill Biden wrote that the family skipped Nantucket. Although he stated on “60 Minutes” in September that it is his “intention” to run for president once more, Mr Biden has not yet confirmed whether he will do so in 2024. ” But, Mr Biden continued, “it’s just an intention.” “But have you decided that I should run again? That is still up in the air.” Last week, Mr Biden declared that he would be running for president in 2024. Mr Biden defeated former President Donald Trump in the 2020 election.
