The following movie from Robert Pattinson’s Oscar-winning director Bong Joon Ho, “Mickey 17,” will be released in theatres in 2024. The Warner Bros. film is currently under production and is scheduled to have its theatrical premiere on March 29, 2024.
The sci-fi tale was adapted from Edward Ashton’s novel, which the publisher St. Martin Press called a high-concept cerebral thriller a la “The Martian” and “Dark Matter.” On a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim, Pattinson will play an “expendable” who won’t let his replacement clone take his place.

The cast also features Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo, Steven Yeun, and Robert Pattinson. It is unclear how closely Bong plans to adhere to the original material, and plot details for the film have not yet been confirmed. In February 2022, Ashton’s book was released.
Through his company Offscreen, Bong will not only write but also direct and produce the upcoming movie. Plan B’s Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner and Kate Street Pictures’ Dooho Choi are additional producers. On behalf of Warner Bros., Peter Dodd will supervise.

Since “Parasite,” which became the most successful South Korean movie ever and the first film made in a language other than English to win the Best Picture Oscar, Bong has only directed “Mickey 7.” The dark comedy, which received six Academy Award nominations, won for original screenplay, director, and foreign feature.
Before the success of “Parasite,” Bong was renowned for critically acclaimed movies like “Snowpiercer,” “The Host,” “Okja,” and “Barking Dogs Never Bite.” The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, Anya Taylor-Joy’s “Mad Max” spinoff “Furiosa,” and “Joker: Folie à Deux” are just a few of the high-profile movies that Warner Bros. has planned for release in 2024.
