Canton Man Dies After Car Hits His Disabled Vehicle: Late Thursday night, an auto accident on Interstate 77 in Tuscarawas County claimed a man’s life from Canton.

According to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the tragic collision occurred just before 11:50 p.m. on the northbound side of I-77 close to the Bolivar exit.
Southbound on I-77, a 2009 Lincoln MKZ ran off the right side of the road and collided with a 2009 Honda Pilot SUV that was immobilized on the west berm of the highway. According to the press announcement, the Honda did have a driver sitting inside.

A 38-year-old Canton man driving the Honda was killed in the collision. The press announced that Lincoln’s 53-year-old Canton driver was brought to Mercy Hospital.
According to the announcement, drug impairment is thought to have contributed to the crash. According to the press statement, the 53-year-old driver was buckled up at the time of the collision. Investigations into this collision are still ongoing.
