CHP: 2 Teens Killed, 3 Injured in Novato Highway Crash

CHP: 2 Teens Killed, 3 Injured in Novato Highway Crash: Two teens died, and three were injured Thursday night in a solo automobile crash in Novato. Five persons in a 2008 Honda Civic wrecked on US-101 at Ignacio Boulevard at 11:43 p.m.

Officials say a 16-year-old male motorist lost control and hit a cement divider. The automobile was northbound, then overturned and landed southbound. The driver died from catastrophic injuries, officials added.

A 17-year-old girl in the back seat was also killed. Authorities said three additional teens suffered significant injuries. CHP claimed two are 17 and one is 18. Officer Horner stated both teens were wearing seatbelts. Both victims were from Marin County.

Their names aren’t released due to their age and to respect their families. According to the CHP, all southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 101 were blocked after the incident. The CHP reopened all lanes at about 2:20 a.m. They were investigating the crash’s cause.
