A teenager from Slidell lost his life in a collision on Friday night, according to Louisiana State Police. In St. Tammany Parish, the collision took place on Interstate 12 close to LA Highway 434.
Christian Tullis, 16, was travelling east on the interstate in a Nissan Titan just before 11 p.m., according to deputies, with a Freightliner 18-wheeler directly in front of him.
According to the police, the Nissan struck the back of the 18-wheeler for an unclear cause. Even though both drivers were buckled up, the adolescent sustained lethal injuries and was declared dead at the site.
While no alcohol was found in the 18-wheeler driver’s toxicology testing, Tullis’ findings are still pending while the crash is still being investigated.
