Dell Is Discontinuing Its Alienware Mobile Connect App

When it was first made available, the Dell Mobile Connect app caused a sensation by making it simple for customers to use the functions of their phone from their PC. For a while, the feature-rich software was unrivalled, but finally Microsoft’s copycat, the Your Phone app, caught up to it in terms of features and usefulness and, of course, was included with Windows 11. The Dell Mobile Connect and Alienware Mobile Connect services will no longer be accessible for download starting on July 31, 2022, according to today’s announcement from Dell.

Dell adds:

There will no longer be a download option for the Dell Mobile Connect and Alienware Mobile Connect software. Use the table below to reference important regional dates. Up to the regional discontinuation date, current users can still profit from the software.

All Bluetooth-capable Inspiron, Vostro, G-Series, Alienware, and Consumer XPS devices running Windows 10 or higher are equipped with Dell Mobile Connect software. To develop a wireless PC-Smartphone integration, this software needs the Dell Mobile Connect or Alienware Mobile Connect companion app. With the software, Dell customers may remotely respond to SMS messages, make and receive phone calls, and more from their computer.

By the regional discontinuation date, Dell advises deleting Alienware Mobile Connect or Dell Mobile Connect from your Dell computer and mobile devices. This ensures the best device experience and frees up storage space. Dell mentions that there are alternatives to their software but does not single out the Microsoft Your Phone app.
