Deputies Shoot and Kill Man in Clermont, and Officials Say: According to the sheriff’s office, a man has passed away after a Friday night shooting involving deputies near a residence in Clermont resulted from a well-being check.

This happened after deputies claimed they went to the 9200 block of Pine Island Road to check on a person’s well-being. Sgt. Jim Vachon of Lake County said, “The person who called us indicated they hadn’t seen him in a while and wanted us to come and check on him.”
