Deputies Shoot and Kill Man in Clermont, and Officials Say: According to the sheriff’s office, a man has passed away after a Friday night shooting involving deputies near a residence in Clermont resulted from a well-being check.
This happened after deputies claimed they went to the 9200 block of Pine Island Road to check on a person’s well-being. Sgt. Jim Vachon of Lake County said, “The person who called us indicated they hadn’t seen him in a while and wanted us to come and check on him.”
Deputies claimed that a man armed with a revolver and rifle, subsequently identified as 69-year-old Donald Charles Brady, confronted them when they arrived.

The man allegedly withdrew into his residence without speaking to deputies when they sought cover and attempted to speak with him. Before the shooting, at least one deputy fired rounds. The sheriff’s office claims that contacted the crisis negotiation team was reached, and locals were instructed to stay away.
