Driver Killed In Blacklick Semi-Truck Collision

After a collision in Blacklick late on Tuesday morning, a semi-truck driver died. Deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene of a crash in the 7700 block of East Broad Street at 11:56 a.m.

According to the sheriff’s office, a 2015 Honda Civic was struck and forced off the north side of the road on East Broad Street by a 2017 Peterbilt truck travelling west in the same lane. The car drove westward but veered off the road and struck a tree.

The incident raised potential hazardous issues, according to the sheriff’s office. Two Civic passengers were sent to Mount Carmel East hospital with minor wounds and were later classified in stable condition.

At 12:01 p.m., the truck driver’s death was confirmed on the spot. The crash is under investigation by the sheriff’s office. Columbus police and Columbus fire also came to the location in addition to the sheriff’s office.
