Early Morning Louisiana Nightclub Gunfire Wounds 12 People: In a “targeted attack” and yet another mass shooting in the United States, gunfire broke out inside a Louisiana nightclub early on Sunday, injuring 12 people, according to authorities.

Less than an hour had passed after ten people were shot and killed at a dance club in Southern California, almost 1,800 miles to the west, when the carnage at the Dior Bar & Lounge in Baton Rouge began, according to authorities.

According to a statement from Baton Rouge Police Sgt. L’Jean McKneely Jr., all 12 victims of the shooting, were transported to hospitals by ambulance or private vehicles.

Even though three of the victims had injuries that were “life-threatening in nature,” nine of the victims will survive this incident, according to Lt. Bryan Ballard. No apparent explanation for the attack at 4619 Bennington Avenue was given.

Ballard, the head of the BRPD’s Homicide Division, stated, “At this time, we can say that it is thought to be a targeted attack.” “No, this wasn’t simply some random act of someone going up and shooting Baton Rouge residents randomly.”

According to Shannon Watts, founder of the anti-gun violence organization Moms Demand Action, “these senseless, preventable shooting tragedies are typical of America’s ongoing gun violence issue,” a statement to NBC News on Sunday.
