FHP: 3 Dead, Numerous Injured in Crash in Volusia County

The Florida Highway Patrol is looking into the Volusia County fatal accident. Around 2:20 a.m. on Sunday, troopers went to State Road 44, which is located east of Interstate 4.

When a pickup truck impacted a sedan while traveling eastward in a westbound lane, the truck rotated clockwise. Additionally, the car stepped onto a median. Following the collision, two women and one guy in the automobile perished. The car’s driver suffered severe wounds.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a third vehicle struck the pickup truck, and a fourth vehicle narrowly avoided a collision but proceeded through the wreckage. The pickup truck’s driver allegedly fled the scene on foot and hasn’t been located, according to troopers.

Two of the truck’s passengers had received critical wounds. Minor injuries were sustained by the two other involved vehicles’ drivers. The Florida Highway Patrol is still looking for the pickup truck driver who sped away while the investigation is still open.
