Musser enrolled in the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in River Falls, Wisconsin, the day after finishing high school in Stillwater. He is the cousin of Emily Dalbec and the son of Nancy Musser.
On December 24, 2022, at around 2:10 a.m., George walked out of Stillwater’s Brian’s Bar & Grill without a coat. He was dressed in a dark grey button-up flannel shirt, dark blue pants, and a black stocking cap.
The parking lot of Freight House, a restaurant next to the bar, still held George’s vehicle. His wallet was discovered in a snowbank close to the restaurant, and his keys were found next to the garbage.

George’s family, friends, and volunteers went looking for him in Stillwater after he didn’t return home that day. On December 25, 2022, at about 7:00 p.m., his body was discovered close to Osgood Avenue in Baytown Township, Washington County.
According to Stillwater Police Department head Brian Mueller, the area was not on George’s route back to the restaurant where he was last seen. Although there were no signs of wrongdoing, Mueller said the case was still being investigated.

Mueller told The Star Tribune, “I wouldn’t want to speculate on his direction or goals. It’s a little bit difficult to find.
