I-70 Westbound Reopens Following Semi-crash: On Monday morning, a semi-accident shut down the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 east of Silverthorne. Just before 3 p.m., the lanes were reopened. Just after 7 a.m., Colorado State Patrol detectives arrived at the scene at mile marker 207 on I-70.

State authorities discovered 3 cars, including 2 semis and a passenger truck, when they arrived. The steel load from one of the semis was dumped after it overturned.

At milepost 216, I-70’s westbound lanes were shut down, diverting traffic over Loveland Pass to Highway 6. One patient was taken urgently to the hospital. Investigations are being done to learn what happened before the collision.
