Jay Briscoe Cause of Death: Legendary wrestler Jay Briscoe (actual name Jamin Pugh) was a true industry icon. He tragically died on Tuesday night. Reports of his death are now in the public eye.
Tony Khan tweeted about the sad news earlier today, which quickly spread over the internet. The late tag team legend was honored by the AEW President in a touching post. Khan also promised to support the Briscoe family in any way.
Khan’s tweet was also corroborated by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, who claimed that the 13-time ROH Tag Team Champion had been in a car accident. According to reports, the incident happened in Laurel, Maryland.
Sadly, Jamin Pugh has passed away. Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he was a star in ROH for over 20 years, from the first show until today.
Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH, reigning as champions to this day. We’ll do whatever we can to support his family.

According to Delaware State Police, two people died Tuesday evening in a deadly automobile collision in Laurel. At the time of the report, the department withheld any identifying information. Ringside News gave additional information regarding Jay Briscoe’s demise. The report states that a woman in another car also passed away there.

According to the emergency medical services log that the outlet could get, his daughter was reportedly involved in the car crash. In the wake of Jay Briscoe’s terrible loss, the wrestling community paid respect to him. On social media, there was a flood of sympathy and condolences following the untimely death of the 38-year-old.
Friends and foes of Jay who have known him for years paid tribute to the multiple champions. Following his terrible passing, CM Punk, Chris Jericho, and some other celebrities paid respect to the veteran. FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler), who competed in memorable matches against the legendary tag team, also posted a touching tweet.
