Jesse Lemonier Cause of Death: The Detroit Lions reported Jessie Lemonier, a former NFL linebacker, passed away on Thursday at 25. No cause of death has been revealed. Lemonier, who stands at 6-3 and weighs 240 pounds, joined the Arizona Cardinals last summer and participated in a preseason game before being cut during training camp.
After signing with the Houston Gamblers and being traded to the Birmingham Stallions, he had intended to play in the USFL this spring. Lemnier’s final season in the NFL was in 2021 when he made seven appearances for the Lions and recorded 15 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

When Lemonier made his NFL debut with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2020, he was an undrafted free agent out of Liberty University. He played in six games and made two tackles. Lemonier and his girlfriend were expecting a kid, according to his agent, who spoke to ESPN.

Following the previous near-tragedies of Damar Hamlin, Peyton Hillis, Franco Harris, and Ronnie Hillman, Jessie Lemonier passed away. In 2021, Lemonier played for the Lions for one season. Linebacker coach Kelvin Sheppard praised Lemonier’s progress and growth at the time.
He played college football for Liberty before entering the NFL, and the Los Angeles Chargers initially signed him as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2020. He participated in six games and made two tackles for the team. In seven games, including two starts, he recorded 15 total tackles and 1.5 sacks.
