Lake County Sheriff’s Office: Gurnee Wrong-way Accident Kills 2: The Lake County Sheriff’s Office reported that two people perished in a wrong-way head-on collision that occurred in an unincorporated Gurnee on Monday morning.
At 4:05 in the morning, according to the sheriff’s office, a Nissan struck a Ford Edge that had been going at a high rate of speed in the northbound lanes of Route 41, half a mile north of Stearns School Road.

The Nissan’s 32-year-old Grayslake, Illinois, the driver was declared dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office. The Ford’s 54-year-old North Chicago driver was taken to the hospital, where he eventually passed away.

Their names have not been made public by the authorities. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigation Team is looking into the collision.
