On Saturday afternoon (April 29), a 57-year-old woman dr0wned in the Wisconsin River in the town of Saratoga in Wood County. The Wood County Sheriff’s Office said the woman was Nekoosa, Wisconsin’s Nancy Brost.
The Wood County Central Dispatch got a call about a person in the Wisconsin River near Wakely Road in the township of Saratoga just before 1 p.m. on Saturday. According to the sheriff’s office, the caller was able to pull the victim out of the water and bring her to land.
When the rescuers got there, they said Brost was deἀd. The sheriff’s office said there was nothing suspicious about the dr0wning, but the probe is still going on. This is not the only thing that happened on Saturday on the Wisconsin River.

When someone saw a person in the river near the West Washington Street Bridge at about 5:48 p.m., they called the Wausau Police. Police who were in the area at the time helped pull the woman out of the water.

Emergency medical workers from the Wausau Police Department and Fire Department helped save a person’s life. The woman was taken to Aspirus Hospital, and Lt. Luis Lopes Serrao of the Wausau Police Department said that she was in safe condition there.
