Nancy Drew Will End With Season 4

The upcoming Nancy Drew fourth season, which premieres on the CW in 2019 and centres on the titular young detective (Kennedy McMann) as she unravels mysteries in her hometown of Horseshoe Bay, will be the final season of the show.

Noga Landau and Melinda Hsu Taylor, the show’s creators, stated in a joint statement on Wednesday, “We worked for years with incredible creative talent in front of the camera, behind the scenes, and among our studio and network partners to bring Nancy Drew’s iconic determination, individuality, and resilience to life, and we are so honoured and proud to have done so.

With thoughtfulness, inclusivity, and kindness, as well as plenty of detective-related twists, otherworldly scares, and star-crossed romance along the road, we are grateful to be able to end this chapter. Our fantastic fan base, whose connection to our themes and stories has meant the world to us, is especially deserving of our gratitude. Season 4 will be a deserving and impactful reward for their enduring love and support.”

McMann, a series star, remarked, “It has given me the greatest joy to start my professional life as a small part of Nancy Drew’s enduring legacy. What an honour it has been to follow in her footsteps for as long as I have, to learn from her, and to advance alongside her.

I wish our devoted viewers could sense the heart and passion of our team, which has been working nonstop since the beginning, both on and off camera. You are just as much a part of this amazing performance as we are. I want to express my sincere gratitude for all the love and generosity you have shown to one another and me.”

Despite not yet having a release date, Nancy Drew’s fourth season is expected to return around the middle of the next season. Scott Wolf, Leah Lewis, Maddison Jaizani, Tunji Kasim, Alex Saxon, and Riley Smith are also featured in the show. The CW recently cancelled Drew after announcing the end of seven other shows back in May. The Drew spin-off Tom Swift was also cancelled by the network in June.
