The sequel to the most out-there game crossover since Kingdom Hearts combined Disney and Final Fantasy is on the horizon, and it’s called Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. The 2017 crossover title Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle pitted characters from Ubisoft’s intentionally grating Rabbids series against those from Nintendo’s legendary Super Mario series.
It was able to blend Mario’s endearing visual aesthetic with strategic battles and crude comedy with great success. Now, in the sequel, gamers will travel through space to several planets where they will encounter a brand new enemy. The release date, gameplay, story, setting, and more of Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope have all been detailed below.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope Release Date
Launching on October 20th, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope won’t be much longer in coming. As was announced in a Nintendo Switch Direct Mini that went online in June, that date is approaching quickly. We have just opened up pre-orders.
In a tweet, Ubisoft CEO Geoff Keighley confirmed that the April 2022–April 2023 window would see the release of Mario + Rabbids Spark of Hope, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Skull & Bones. And now that it’s April, we can probably look forward to some new content for these titles.
Details about a new Prince of Persia and an Immortals: Fenyx Rising sequel were leaked last month, along with the rest of Ubisoft’s upcoming lineup. With this month’s cover of Edge Magazine featuring Sparks of Hope, anticipation for the game’s release is at an all-time high.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope Gameplay
Controlling a party of three characters, players of Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope will explore colourful locales and engage in turn-based battle scenarios. Players will need to make use of their dash attacks, team jumps, and special skills to come out on top. Characters can make the most of their limited movement with the dash attack, allowing them to rush through adversaries and do a predetermined amount of damage.
And with team jump, they can bounce off each other to reach new heights or leap across chasms. A team jump allows characters like Mario to land on an opponent’s head, dealing damage. There are unique abilities for each playable character, such as Luigi’s autoshoot against enemies who perform a move action within his line of sight.
To those in his party who are close enough to him, Mario can also grant them a buff that increases their damage. The primary and secondary weapons that each character uses are completely up for grabs. Luigi, on the other hand, has a long-range sniper and an explosive robot that tracks down foes and chases them to their demise, whereas Mario relied on a blaster and a hammer.
New iterations of these weapons can be purchased with gold coins, and they come with different modifiers like honey glue that sticks foes to the ground or bounce that causes them to flee. The mechanics of fighting have undergone significant changes in Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. Instead of directing their movements with a cursor, players will now be able to freely reposition their characters on the field of battle.
In Kingdom Battle, the players took predetermined, linear courses through the game world. There appear to be wide open spaces in Sparks of Hope, with foes strategically positioned about the environment to initiate an instanced battle if you come into touch with them.
Very interesting, as it will spur exploration and make it possible for the player to sidestep combat if they so choose. In particular, it has been confirmed that Rayman will be included in the third downloadable content pack for Mario + Rabbids. Even though we probably won’t get to see it for a time, just knowing that it exists is thrilling.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope Trailer
Combine Mario with the Rabbids! Two trailers have been made for Sparks of Hope. The first is a computer-generated animation depicting the origin of Sparks, a species whose ancestry includes both Luma and Rabbids. One moment, a projection shows the skeletal hands of an unknown person crushing a group of Sparks. Then, our intrepid saviours make a beeline for the arsenal to stock up on weaponry in preparation for their galactic rescue mission.
A short time later, the rabbit Rosalina is unveiled, and our heroes descend from their ship onto an unknown world, where it is discovered that they each have a Spark of one of the four elements hovering above their heads. The Sparks of Rabbid Rosalina and Peach are ice blue and fiery red, respectively, whereas the Spark of Rabbid Peach and Mario are bright yellow and glitter.
Once our heroes have gathered together to fend against the horde of terrible guys around them, the title screen will appear. The second trailer for Sparks of Hope showcases some of the game’s features. It will have more open areas than its predecessor, allowing players more freedom to explore the game in any order they desire. It appears that encounters no longer take place at strategic points along a predetermined course, but rather whenever a roving adversary gets too close to you.
If that foe manages to establish contact with your group, you’ll be instantly transported to a dungeon to do combat with them. You also won’t be able to choose your own path through the battlefield, which is a major change. The joystick will be used instead to allow for unrestricted movement throughout the playing field.
