Obama Will Rally For Democrats At A Phoenix High School

Just days before the election on Tuesday, former president Barack Obama will attend a Democratic rally at Cesar Chavez High School in Laveen Village.

In a “get out the vote”-style event Wednesday evening, Obama is explicitly hoping to boost support for incumbent Sen. Mark Kelly and governor contender Katie Hobbs. He is urging voters to turn out in large numbers.

There will also be other elected figures there, such as Republican Mesa Mayor John Giles and Congressman Ruben Gallego. The event begins at 6:30 p.m., and doors open at 5:30.

Obama’s visit comes just a few weeks after Donald Trump, the previous president, staged a rally in Mesa for GOP candidates.

Here is a list of everyone that came:

  • Barack Obama, President
  • Mark Kelly, a senator
  • Katie Hobbs is the secretary of state.
  • John Giles, mayor of Mesa
  • Candidate for attorney general Kris Mayes
  • Adrian Fontes, candidate for secretary of state
  • Representative Ruben Gallego
  • Sandra Kennedy, Arizona Corporation Commissioner
  • Kathy Hoffman, state superintendent of Arizona
  • Raquel Terán, a state senator and chair of the Arizona Democratic Party
