Ohio Man Detained in Indiana on Kidnapping Charges: In connection with the alleged kidnapping and detention of two ladies in Springfield, Clark County, on Tuesday, a man from Zanesfield, Ohio, has been detained in Indiana. Charles E. Womack, 49, is accused of kidnapping and other crimes in connection with the event that happened on Tuesday, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, Womack visited a home in the 600 block of Hiser Avenue owned by a lady he was informally dating. Womack allegedly sparked an argument with a second lady who was a tenant at the property while they were both there, according to the sheriff’s office.
According to the sheriff’s office, the disagreement escalated as the other woman joined in, and Womack is accused of pushing the renter into the basement by pushing her down the stairs. As a result, the woman sustained serious injuries.

Police claim that Womack then took the homeowner from the house against her will while tying her up with electrical wires. Law enforcement officials claimed Womack took the homeowner with him on many journeys away from the house over the course of the following five hours.
He didn’t try to help the other woman at any point during that time, according to the police. The homeowner was finally returned to her residence by Womack, who then locked her in the basement with the tenant, according to the sheriff’s office. Then he left the house.
In addition to helping the other woman and freeing herself, the homeowner managed to reach a phone and dial 911. A helicopter was used to transport the injured tenant to Miami Valley Hospital. The Moorefield Township Fire Department attended to the homeowner.

According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Womack was apprehended by Allen County, Indiana, sheriff’s deputies close to Fort Wayne and taken into custody under duress. He faces allegations of kidnapping, felonious assault, and abduction, along with other prospective offenses, and is awaiting extradition back to Ohio.
