As the summer slowly draws to a close, PS Plus customers can expect to see an increase in the number of free video games they can download. In order to avoid the oppressive heat, do so now! Sony revealed the upcoming batch of PS Plus games on Wednesday. It’s a really strong lineup. The fundamental PlayStation Plus service is still freely available, despite recent significant changes to the programme. Every month, everyone who has purchased a PS Plus Essential, Extra, or Premium tier will receive three free titles to add to their library. Furthermore, unlike the PS Plus Extra and Premium games, these ones are permanent as long as a PlayStation Plus subscription is maintained.
The last Wednesday of each month is typically when Sony unveils the upcoming batch of free PS Plus games, and August 2022 will follow the same trend. The three titles that PS Plus customers can download on their PS4 or PS5 starting on August 2 have been formally announced by Sony, and gamers have until September 6 to add them to their library. Again, these monthly free games are accessible to PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium subscribers, so beginning August 2, anyone with a PS Plus subscription can take advantage of them.

The well-known turn-based RPG Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the featured free PS Plus title for August 2022. Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the seventh game in the critically acclaimed Yakuza series, heavily draws on the game’s peculiar comedy and fundamentally alters the gameplay to play more like a conventional turn-based JRPG. Critics gave Yakuza: Like a Dragon high scores when it first came out in 2020, and PS Plus members will get access to both the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game.
- Little Nightmares (PS4)
- Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 (PS4/PS5)
- Yakuza: Like a Dragon (PS4/PS5)
On August 2, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 for PS4 and PS5 will also be accessible through PS Plus, with members receiving the game’s Cross-Gen Deluxe Bundle. This is a welcome change of pace for the PS Plus programme because Sony has frequently restricted the number of game versions it makes available to PS Plus members.
And lastly, the original Little Nightmares will be the third game PS Plus customers may download in August 2022. A side-scrolling horror game called Little Nightmares has received plaudits for its eerie mood and horrific graphics. It was then followed by a sequel, which earned favourable reviews as well. Fans still have time to claim the free PS Plus games for July 2022 if they haven’t already, but the free PS Plus titles for August 2022 will be accessible starting on August 2.
