RuPaul’s Drag Race Recap Season 15 Episode 5

RuPaul’s Drag Race Recap Season 15 Episode 5: Following the dramatic elimination from last week’s show, this week’s queens enter the Werk Room without a twin. Spice is in tears as she reads her twin’s farewell lipstick note, and everyone is curious to see how she will perform in the tournament without Sugar. The girls promise to be there for Spice throughout her adventure.

Who Is Serving and Who Isn’t in the Workroom Drama?

Mistress Isabelle Brooks and Marcia Marcia Marcia continue to harbor animosity toward one another after Untucked’s previous episode. Both finished close to challenge winner Loosey LaDuca in the Snatch Game, but Marcia was confident that she came in second, and Mistress, who did, read the New York queen to dirt by saying that her appearance was tacky and she didn’t perform as well as she thought in the task.

Spice confides in Mistress that she thinks a few contestants don’t belong here and that Sugar should have stayed over them as the contestants’ exit drag. Aura Mayari, Jax, Salina EsTitties, and Amethyst are the subjects of the camera because they have all finished last or close to it in the previous episodes.

Reading Is Fundamental

The following morning, Aura immediately asks Spice to express her true feelings in front of everyone. Spice is “rescued by the bell” instead, as RuPaul makes a dramatic arrival. Ru then tells the girls that the Drag Race Library will soon reopen for the Reading Challenge this season.

The Reading Challenge allows the queens to “read” (playfully criticize) each other in the tradition of ballroom culture. It consistently ranks as one of the most memorable tasks and the only one to appear on every show episode. Unsurprisingly, Loosey LaDuca triumphs in this legendary exercise, considering her talent for channeling Joan Rivers, The Queen of Barbed One-Liners. Loosey appears to be having a good run.

House of Fashion

Reading is merely a warm-up for the competitors’ main struggle. It’s time to form groups for the maxi challenge this week, which requires the girls to transform everyday household objects into haute fashion. Mistress, Aura, Amethyst, Luxx Noir London, and Spice are in Group One, House of Visage. They create a New Jersey-themed look that emphasizes extravagant animal patterns and velvet.

With Loosey are Sasha Colby, Marcia, and Malaysia Babydoll Foxx in Group Two’s House of Matthews. Their designs heavily rely on materials with tropical prints and are based in Palm Springs. Anetra, EsTitties, Robin Fierce, and Jax are in Group Three, House of Kressley. They decide on a Town and Country design scheme focusing on flannel components.

Who’s On Top?

The stage is ablaze with glitz, thanks to actress and musician Janelle Monae serving as a guest judge. It is appropriate given that the panel will soon decide who will be this week’s design stars. The judges declare Luxx the winner of the House of Fashion competition, closely followed by Robin, Malaysia, and Sasha.

This is the highest Robin and Malaysia have ever placed, which may indicate that their competitive sides are beginning to show. Jax, who calls herself a seamstress with impressive stitching abilities, fails to wow the judges with her performance in the design competition. Her runway appearance is judged to be unimpressive and beneath her abilities. She nevertheless narrowly avoids falling into the bottom two.

Lip Sync for Your Life: Who’s Going Home?

The judges chose Salina EsTitties and Amethyst to lip sync for their lives since they both had “hot disasters” for runway costumes, according to the judges. After Amethyst’s third lip sync, everyone is left to question whether, as was asserted in an earlier episode, drag laws are similar to baseball rules.

The two queens must lip-sync to Janelle Monae’s “Queen,” which is only fitting. Sadly for Amethyst, the saying “three strikes and you’re out” is accurate. EsTitties tell her to sashay away because she can’t win the lip sync competition. At least she can anticipate her birth month of February.
