Suspect Dead in Culver City after a Chase and Police Shot: After a car chase culminated in a crash in Culver City and police opened fire, a guy accused of domestic abuse was declared dead early on Sunday morning, according to the authorities.
According to a statement from the Culver City Police Department, officers were called to the 3800 block of College Avenue at 12:15 a.m. regarding an incident “wherein the husband/suspect was threatening the wife/victim with a handgun.”
After being apprehended by police, the suspect fled the scene in a car, starting a police chase, according to the news release. When the suspect’s car collided with a center median along Cardiff Avenue and Culver Boulevard, it became immobilized.

Following the collision, “the suspect fled the vehicle on foot,” according to the statement, which was followed by Culver City police. “Seconds later, there was an officer-involved shooting.”
The suspect, according to a police official, passed away there. His identity wasn’t made public right away. According to police, the California Department of Justice was investigating the shooting.
