Toronto International Film Festival 2022 lineup Announced

As part of the schedule for the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, the celebrities are travelling up north. As of Thursday, a number of noteworthy films have been added to TIFF’s expanding schedule. These include buzzy productions like Brendan Fraser’s remarkable performance as a 600-pound man in Darren Aronofsky’s The Whale; Brett Morgen’s surreal David Bowie documentary, Moonage Daydream; Hunt, the directorial debut of Squid Game actor Lee Jung-jae; Jennifer Lawrence’s most recent drama Causeway; Sarah Polley’s Women Talking, a mysterious drama with

The Fabelmans, a semi-autobiographical coming-of-age drama from Steven Spielberg; Bros, a gay rom-com from Billy Eichner; Catherine Called Birdy, a period drama from Lena Dunham; The Woman King, a battle drama from Viola Davis; My Policeman, a song by Harry Styles; and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, the eagerly anticipated Daniel Craig sequel.

TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey said in a statement: “We’re thrilled to invite some of the most renowned names in movies back to Toronto to present their Gala and Special Presentation projects.” “This roster offers the rich experiences we wait all year for with tales that span six continents and featuring performances you just must see. TIFF is a key player in the worldwide cinema business, frequently presenting both the premieres of prestige films and smaller, independently and globally produced commercial productions. The festival is known for generating Oscar anticipation before the season of the Academy Awards since it frequently introduces projects that are sure to win. Nine of the ten TIFF People’s Choice Award winners over the past ten years—including Belfast, last year’s Best Picture nominee—have gone on to win or get Best Picture nominations from the Academy.
