UPDATE: Soldier Killed in Shooting at Fort Stewart: The soldier who was shot on base on Monday morning has passed away, according to Fort Steward officials. The soldier’s name has not been made public. The U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division is holding the suspect.”
Following an altercation this morning on Fort Stewart, a suspect is in custody. There isn’t any current danger to the neighborhood. Police were called to the Second Armored Brigade Combat Team compound at 9:57 a.m., and they arrived at the scene at 10:04.
The treatment of one shooting victim involved the dispatch of emergency medical personnel. At this moment, there is no information available about the victim’s condition. During the event, the Second Brigade compound was briefly sealed down.

In response to today’s incident, Winn Army Community Hospital will offer behavioral health counseling. By dialing the main appointment number at 435-6633 or the soldier’s designated unit, appointments can be established.”
Following a reported incident at Fort Stewart, communications officers there claim that a suspect is in custody.
They issued the subsequent statement:

There is no threat to the neighborhood, according to officials. The number and severity of injuries, if any, were not immediately known.
