Staff members were ordered to leave the adjoining Wake County Health Department building for a short while because WakeMed was operating with restricted access on Wednesday.
At least five Raleigh police cars were stationed near the health department facility on Sunnybrook Road at 9:30 in the morning. Police officers started letting individuals back into the facility around 10 a.m.

The Sunnybrook building was evacuated, and WRAL News is investigating the cause. There was no threat to the community, according to a WakeMed representative, and the facility was not on lockdown.
