Chrissy Cunningham is poor. Despite having a very small part in terms of screen time, the Hawkins High School cheerleader, who is portrayed by Grace Van Dien in Stranger Things Season 4, is a significant figure in the new batch of episodes. That’s because Chrissy dies to demonstrate just how dangerous the new antagonist, Vecna, really is, just like Barb (Shannon Purser) did before her in Season 4 of Stranger Things. But who is Chrissy Cunningham from Season 4 of Stranger Things? What do we know about the actress that plays her, Grace Van Dien? Let’s together research this! Yeah!
Who is Chrissy Cunningham from Season 4 of Stranger Things?
Hawkins High School’s head cheerleader appears to have a perfect life. She is attractive, well-liked, and dating the school’s premier basketball player, Jason Carver (Mason Dye). But there’s a lot more going on behind the surface, as you should already be aware of having watched the first three seasons of Stranger Things. In reality, Chrissy is plagued by nightmares that the evil Vecna has given her, in which she sees the bodies of her family members.

It doesn’t really matter whether this is something she actually experienced, like other characters who are preyed upon by Vecna, or merely something she sees happening; we don’t learn that information in the episodes. She loses her life while attempting to get narcotics from Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) to try to stop the visions. Chrissy’s ghost looms large for the remainder of the season despite her horrifying passing at the end of the season premiere. Eddie is soon suspected of killing her, and both the police and the basketball team are after him (surprisingly, the basketball squad appears to be the more deadly).
Jason, who has lost her, pretty much loses it and starts an 80s-style Satanic Panic in her honour. The worst part is that Vecna’s stronghold allows us to repeatedly witness her dismembered body buried in an unsightly pillar in the Upside Down. Oh, and Eddie’s trailer, where she was killed, acts as a gateway to the Upside Down and the scene of the final episode of Volume 1’s climax. There are still two episodes left in Stranger Things Season 4, which will debut on July 1. It is uncertain whether we will receive the #JusticeForChrissy that Season 1 never fully granted to Barb. Chrissy may be gone, but it’s very obvious that she won’t be forgotten.
Who Is Chrissy Cunningham’s Actress Grace Van Dien in Season 4 of Stranger Things?
Actress Grace Van Dien, 24, was born Caroline Dorothy Grace Van Dien and currently resides in Los Angeles. Stranger Things is undoubtedly her biggest role to date, despite the fact that she began acting at the age of 9 in her family’s home movies. But in the interim, among many other parts, she played Brooke Osmond in Netflix’s Greenhouse Academy, Katie Campbell in NBC’s short-lived The Village, and had a cameo appearance on The Rookie. Despite having fewer than 10,000 Twitter followers (now, anticipate that to increase as more people see her in Stranger Things), she is a definite Instagram celebrity with over 421k followers for just 68 photos. Grace, go!
Following Stranger Things, Grace Van Dien is also staying busy. V for Vengeance, The Fix, Aaah! Roach!, and Julius Caesar Live Read are the four projects that IMDb lists for her. Of course, you can also watch her in the premiere episode of Season 4 of Stranger Things right now. And in the two episodes that premiere in July, it’s always possible that her reanimated corpse may do something strange. Remain tuned!
