Woman Finds Dead After Falling Overboard From Cruise Ship Off Florida: The body of a woman who drowned after falling overboard from a cruise ship early on Thursday was found by the Coast Guard. According to the Coast Guard’s Southeast district, a lady, 36, who was not officially recognized, was discovered 18 miles from Port Canaveral’s beach. She was traveling on the MSC Meraviglia, a vessel that MSC Cruises owns and sails.

In a statement released Thursday, the firm expressed condolences to the woman’s family. It said that the ship’s “sophisticated detecting systems” had informed crew members that a passenger had gone overboard.
According to MSC Cruises, the US Coast Guard assisted with search efforts with boats and a helicopter, and the crew conducted an emergency search and rescue operation.

“Sadly, despite the quick rescue effort, the passenger died from his injuries. We are giving the authorities all of our assistance as they look into this.” The woman’s fall is being investigated by the Coast Guard, which did not have any new information on Thursday.
