Chris Flanagan Obituary – Principal of Madeira Elementary School Sudden Deἀth

The elementary school principal at Madeira ded suddenly on April 24, Monday night. In a social media post, the city of Madeira said –

“We are saddened to hear of the passing of Madeira Elementary School Principal, Chris Flanagan. His leadership will be missed throughout the community.”

In a message to Forest Hills families, Superintendent Larry R. Hook wrote (as reported by WLWT5) –

“I am sad to inform you that Chris Flanagan, former principal at Ayer Elementary and Asst. Principal at Mercer Elementary passed away unexpectedly last night. Chris left our district and most recently has been a Principal in the Madeira City School system. Chris made a positive impact on many students and staff while he was part of the Forest Hills family and he will be missed.”

In honor of Flanagan, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has told all official buildings in Madeira to fly their flags at half-staff. DeWine said in a statement –

“In honor of the life of Madeira Elementary School Principal Chris Flanagan, I hereby proclaim, by the authority vested in me as the Governor of the State of Ohio by the Ohio Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, that the flags of the United States and the State of Ohio shall be flown at half-staff upon all public buildings and grounds throughout the City of Madeira from sunrise to sunset on the day of his funerl.”

City schools were closed on Tuesday. The city made no mention of Flanagan’s cause of deth. Flanagan was 50 years old. There is a GoFundMe set up to help the Flanagan family.
