Privacy Policy

About us

https://countycurrent.com is the address of our site.

Comments

When people leave comments on the site, we collect the information from the comments form as well as their IP address and browser user agent string to help us find spam.

The Gravatar service may get an anonymous string made from your email address, called a hash, to check if you are using it. Here is where you can find the Gravatar service’s privacy policy: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, the public can see your profile picture next to your comment.

Media

If you upload pictures to the website, you shouldn’t upload pictures that have embedded location data (called EXIF GPS) in them. Images on the website can be downloaded and used to find out where they were taken.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you can choose to have cookies save your name, email address, and website. These are for your convenience so you don’t have to re-enter your information every time you leave a comment. These cookies can be kept for a year.

If you go to our login page, we’ll put a temporary cookie on your computer to see if your browser can handle cookies. This cookie has no personal information in it, and when you close your browser, it goes away.

When you log in, we’ll also set up a few cookies to remember your login information and the way you want your screen to look. Cookies for logging in last for two days, and cookies for setting up your screen last for a year. If you choose “Remember Me,” you will be able to use the same login for two weeks. If you sign out of your account, the cookies that let you sign in will be deleted.

If you make changes to an article or publish it, your browser will save an extra cookie. This cookie doesn’t contain any personal information; it just shows the post ID of the article you just edited. It’s only good for one day.

Content from other websites that were “embedded”

Some articles on this site may have content embedded in them (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). When you embed content from another website, it acts exactly the same as if the visitor had gone to that other website.

These websites may collect information about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and watch how you interact with embedded content. They may also track how you interact with the embedded content if you have an account on that website and are logged in.

Who we give your information to

If you ask for your password to be reset, your IP address will be sent to you in the reset email.

How long do we keep your information?

If you leave a comment, the comment and the information about it will be kept forever. This is so that any follow-up comments will be recognized and approved automatically, instead of having to wait in a moderation queue.

If a user registers on our website, we also keep the personal information they give us in their user profile. All users can always see, change, or get rid of their personal information (except they cannot change their username). Administrators of the website can also see and change this information.

What do you get to do with your data?

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can ask to get a file with all the personal information we have about you, including any information you have given us. You can also ask us to get rid of any information about you that we have. This doesn’t include any information that we have to keep for legal, administrative, or security reasons.

Where your information will go

A service that automatically looks for spam can be used to check visitor comments.
