For those who were afraid that we had seen the last of Tanjiro and Nezuko (and everyone else), season three of Demon Slayer is unquestionably on the way. In May of 2022, the second season of the wildly popular anime franchise Demon Slayer concluded with an epic finale that featured some of the series’ most impressive action scenes to yet.
The spinoff/sequel film Demon Slayer: Mugen Train had a phenomenal year, helping to propel the original series to another record-breaking 12 months. In 2020, after its debut, Mugen Train smashed records at the box office around the world, becoming the highest-grossing Japanese film of all time.
What will happen next in Tanjiro and the Hashira Corps’ battle against Muzan Kibutsuji now that the dust has cleared in the entertainment district? Everything we know about the third season of “Demon Slayer” is outlined below.
Demon Slayer Season 3 Release Date
We have some good news date has been set for the release of Season 3 of “Demon Slayer.” The show will debut in April 2023, which is a lot sooner than we anticipated. It was also revealed that the first episode of the Swordsmith Village Arc would be an hour-long special, rather than the usual 22 minutes.
Along with episodes 10 and 11 of the second season of Demon Slayer, the first episode of the third season of Kimetsu no Yaiba will also premiere early as part of a global “theatrical screening event” (similar to the Mugen Train incident). Find below the specifics of these worldwide screenings.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Cast
The third season of Demon Slayer has not yet been announced, but we can assume that the majority of the cast from the first two seasons will return. Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito, and Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji, who were both introduced in season one episode twenty-one, will be the two most notable newcomers.
To that end, I’ve included the Japanese and English voice actresses for each of Demon Slayer’s main characters below:

Koyoharu Gotoge, the head of the original plot, will return, as will Haruo Sotozaki, the director, and Akira Matsushima, the character designer.
Demon Slayer Season 3 Plot
The ninth arc of the original manga, titled “Swordsmith Village,” will be the primary plot point of season three. It’s important to remember that the original Demon Slayer manga ended in 2020, giving anime viewers a rare opportunity to learn (approximately) what is in store for Tanjiro and the rest of the gang in the years to come.
After Tanjiro and Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui’s victory over the demon siblings Gyutaro and Daki in the previous Entertainment District arc, the Swordsmith Village arc begins up right where the previous one left off. Aside from Tanjiro’s demon-slaying blade, nothing else was permanently damaged throughout this epic combat.
Season 3 of Demon Slayer will see Tanjiro visiting the Swordsmith Village to have Hotaru Haganezuka fix his sword. Tanjiro and company will undoubtedly face a legion of demons during their stay (including a Upper Rank Six that splits themselves across multiple bodies).
Luckily, Muichiro Tokito, also known as Mist Hashira, steps in to deal with the situation. The reason why Satoshi Hino (RengokuDemon )’s Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba was so popular around the world (via AnimeNewsNetwork).
Demon Slayer Season 3 Trailer
A trailer for the third season of Demon Slayer has not yet been released, but the production studio Ufotable has been dropping hints with sneak peeks of new material for quite some time. We know that the Mist and Love Hashiras will play significant roles in the upcoming third season because they were featured in a video produced in April 2022 by Crunchyroll and Ufotable that recaps key moments from the prior two seasons.
Recent updates to the Ufotable site include a video showcasing the ‘Upper Moon’ demons, or the most powerful of Kibutsuji’s Twelve Kizuki, some of whom are confirmed to appear in the upcoming third season of Demon Slayer. There should be a complete trailer shortly, considering the global release of season three of Demon Slayer is in April and the opening episodes are airing all through February.
