Christine Katherine DeAngelis, a 94-year-old resident of Hastings on Hudson, pssed away peacefully in her home on May 22 in the early morning hours. Christine Migliaccio was born in the Manhattan borough on March 5, 1923, to parents Giovanni Migliaccio and Francesca Iacono.

She was a waɼ bride who got hitched to her true love, Raymond DeAngelis, on September 26, 1942, just before he left for the front lines. Christine was a ‘Rosie the Riveter’ who produced titanium rings in a munitions plant for the waɼ effort. In 1945, she was content to settle in the Bronx and become a stay-at-home mom.

Raymond and Christine uprooted their family in 1960 and relocated them to Hastings on Hudson. Christine’s life was cruelly cut short in 1965 when her husband abruptly pssed away. Christine was active in the Westchester Girl Scouts throughout her time in Hastings, spending many years organizing and leading troop activities across the county.

She gave endlessly of her time to Hastings’ Saint Matthew’s Church and School. John F. Kennedy’s Physical Fitness curriculum was created, implemented, and taught at St. Matthews as their Physical Education program for sixteen years with assistance from Christine, one of the original team of eight women.

She joined a nonprofit organization called St. Matthew’s Prayer Group and participated in their prayer meetings.

Christine graduated with an Associate in Science from the College of Mount St. Vincent in 1983. Until her retirement, she worked for NYC Health and Hospitals as a hospital administrator in surgical services at Jacoby Hospital in the Bronx.

In her leisure time, Christine loved to cook some of her family’s all-time favorite Italian foods for them, watch her grandchildren, help them with their homework, and be a fierce protector of the kids. She is survived by her daughter Maria (Harry) Stahl, son Richard (Carol) DeAngelis, and grandchildren Michael (Liz), John, and Cristina Stahl.

Her husband had ded before she did. She was the oldest of six children and is survived by 14 nieces and nephews and her siblings Nicholas Migliaccio, Elsie Caprino, Pasquale Migliaccio, Lucy Salaterski, and RoseAnn Civitano.
