Officials from Cherokee and Cobb County rushed to a collapsed trench where a guy had been buried, and the man is now recovering at the hospital.
Around 1:30 pm on Saturday, Cherokee County Fire & Rescue Services responded to a call about a person trapped in a ditch near Woodstock in an unincorporated part of the county.
Troops around the county reacted to the incident and discovered the man buried to the neck in a ditch.
Cherokee officials started stabilizing the area and clearing the soil surrounding the man as Cobb County Fire & Rescue Services’ trench rescue team was called for assistance.

According to officials, the individual was treated for his injuries while trapped and kept under observation until his complete removal, which occurred at about 3:45 pm.

The incident happened when the man was working on waterproofing a private basement, according to fire officials. His condition was classified as stable at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he was admitted.
