MF Doom Cause Of Deἀth
The late rapper MF Doom’s wife has spoken up about the circumstances behind her husband’s tragic deἀth at the age of 49 in 2020, some three years later. The British-born MC, real name Daniel Dumile, pἀssed away on October 31, 2020, from what his wife Jasmine Dumile at the time considered “unknown causes.” It took two months for the artist’s pἀssing to be made public.
An inquest, as reported by Leeds Live, determined that Doom pἀssed away after his health “suddenly deteriorated” while he was in the hospital. Jasmine Dumile, his wife, told the publication that although her husband was healthy now, he had been dealing with a lot of health problems at the time, including kidney dἰsease and high blood pressure, which resulted in worry and weight gain.
She claimed that although Doom had been given ACE medications to lower his blood pressure, after just two doses he started having breathing issues that led to swelling in his tongue and neck and an emergency room visit. When the swelling worsened, she said the rapper called her from the hospital in a panic.

She then used a different phone to immediately notify the on-duty nurses. Because of the COVID-19 restrictions then in place, Jasmine said she could not visit her husband in the hospital until Oct. 31. She told investigators:
“That’s when the respirator was turned off that was helping him breathe,”
The inquest found that on Oct. 21, Doom had complained that he couldn’t breathe and attempted to get out of his hospital bed before collapsing and suffering respiratory arrest. Because of the COVID-19 restrictions then in place, Jasmine said she could not visit her husband in the hospital until Oct. 31. She told investigators:

The inquest found that on Oct. 21, Doom had complained that he couldn’t breathe and attempted to get out of his hospital bed before collapsing and suffering respiratory arrest.
The swelling of his tongue, neck, and lips, according to the doctors, was a “rare” side-effect of the ACE inhibitors that led to a disorder called angioedema (a swelling that resembles hives but occurs beneath the skin as opposed to on the surface).
The source added that the hospital trust launched a “serious incident investigation” after Doom pἀssed away to see what lessons could be drawn from the situation; the investigation into Doom’s deἀth is still ongoing. In a post announcing his deἀth in Dec. 2020, Jasmine wrote:
“To Dumile, The greatest husband, father, teacher, student, business partner, lover and friend I could ever ask for. Thank you for all the things you have shown, taught and given to me, our children and our family. Thank you for teaching me how to forgive beings and give another chance, not to be so quick to judge and write off. Thank you for showing how not to be afraid to love and be the best person I could ever be. My world will never be the same without you.”
Dumile was born in London and then relocated to New York as a child with his family. He and his brother Dingilizwe, better known by his stage as DJ Subroc co-founded the rap group K.M.D. under the moniker Zev Love X. As a member of K.M.D., Dumile initially achieved success on the Billboard charts.
Scoring two top 20 songs on the Hot Rap Songs chart in 1991 with “Peachfuzz” and “Who Me?” After taking a break from the music business following the April 1993 deἀth of his brother, Dumile returned to rap in 1997 under the MF Doom alias, which he based on the Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom. He began to usually play while donning his distinctive metallic mask after that.
