Michael D. “Mike” Goss, Sr., 53, pἀssed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, at 6 a.m. at Ochsner Acadia General Hospital in Crowley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be performed for him on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
Fr. Brent Smith, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church-Rayne, will preside over the ceremonies. Mike earned a law degree from Loyola University, N.O. College of Law in 1995 after graduating from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1991. In 1995, he was a member of the Loyola Law Review. From 1995 to 2007, he was employed by Domengeaux & Wright.
From that point until his pἀssing in 2007, he established Michael D. Goss, Attorney at Law. From 2005 to 2011, he was the Chief Deputy Assessor for Acadia Parish. From 2011 to 2013, he was the Assessor. He served as i3-Software & Services’ Legal Services Director and Business Development Leader from 2013 to now.
Mike belonged to the Crowley Rotary Club and served as its previous president. He was also a part of the Habibi Shriners, the Louisiana Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He had previously belonged to the Coastal Conservation Association, One Acadia, Lafayette Parish Bar Association, and Acadia Parish Bar Association.
Former Community Outreach Corporation board member and Leadership Excel graduate. He served as an intern for Judge Frank Marullo and Congressman John Breaux. DeAnn Watlington Goss of Crowley, his wife, and his two kids, Michael Goss, Jr. and Ryan Goss, both of Crowley.

His father, Kenneth G. Goss, Sr. of Crowley, one sister, Jeanine Goss Donahue of Mandeville, and two brothers, Ken Goss, Jr. of Crowley and Kevin Goss of Katy, TX, survive Mike. His mother, Merline Chaisson Goss, dἰed before him.
