Cameron Crossley Robbins also pssed away as a cherished grandson, son, brother, and friend. He was reported missing on May 24 in the Bahamas, off the shore of Athol Island, and later found to be lost at sea. He had just graduated from the University Lab School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at 18.

Cameron is survived by his parents, Will and Shari; his siblings, Cole and Cassie; his grandmothers, Carolyn Faye McDowell of Riverview, Florida, and Mary Ann Robbins of Baton Rouge; and a large number of aunts, uncles, and cousins spread out across the nation, from Pennsylvania to Texas.

He also leaves behind his parents, Will and Shari. His Louisiana family adopted him a few days after his birth on November 1, 2004, in Abilene, Texas. From kindergarten until his May 21 graduation, he attended the University Lab School in Baton Rouge.

He was a committed member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, where he had also been the vice president of the youth group and had been baptized and confirmed. Growing up, he participated in every competitive activity he could find, winning multiple preschool team leagues at the YMCA and in the church league.

In the end, he settled on baseball as his first love. He played three seasons of varsity baseball for the U High Cubs. He traveled with the Knights KNation teams in the summers of 2021 and 2022 to compete in several showcase events from Georgia to Louisiana as a pitcher, third baseman, and shortstop.

He was a formidable athlete who persevered through numerous ailments, pitching with broken hands and separated shoulders. He wished to continue playing baseball in college. He was a high school athlete and perfect in pop-a-sh0t. He was a big star in the shower and with karaoke machines, and he liked his truck and country music.

He frequently visited his family’s fish camp in Fourchon, Louisiana, where he enjoyed fishing. Before departing for a graduation celebration with his buddies in the Bahamas, he had just returned from a weekend fishing expedition on the Louisiana Gulf Coast with his father and brother.

As a de-hard LSU supporter, he often attended baseball, basketball, and football games. Last but not least, he adored everything edible, especially his grandmother’s spaghetti and meatballs and his mother’s red beans. He frequently visited his family’s cupboard in the middle of the night, when he ate a lot of popcorn and fruity pebbles.

He pssed away too soon, but he enjoyed a life filled with loving family and friends. In addition to being pleasant and friendly, he was also focused and driven. He took pride in his profession and adored his grandparents. His family and friends, who will cherish their memories of him forever, will miss him terribly.

On Sunday, June 4, a memorial ceremony honoring his life will occur at Broadmoor United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, and the service will begin at 4:00 pm.
