In the presence of her son and daughter, Cathy (Cathren, Catherine), Dawson (Oliverson), 72, dἰed quietly following a subarachnoid hemorrhage from a ruptured aneurysm. When she was three days old, on June 4, 1950, Myrle and Zella (Wheeler) Dawson adopted Cathy.
In 1964, LDS custom happily sealed her to her adoptive parents. The 1968 graduating class of Logan High included Cathy. I obtained several technical certificates from the University of Glasgow and attended Utah State University.
Cathy was John Bruce Oliverson’s (of Preston, Idaho) first wife. They married in 1971, had a daughter, and divorced in 1973. Cathy held various jobs, including retail, but her passions were writing and producing plays, movies, and countless published and unpublished novels.
In several television and film productions, she played atmosphere. Cathy was the sound operator for many theatrical plays with Charm’ ed Life plays, including Twelfth Night, Don Juan in Hell, Antigone 1944, Cyrano de Bergerac, and Antigone.
She worked as the wardrobe assistant on Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, wrote, produced, and starred in The Bug in the Bathroom, served as a script supervisor on Girl with Gun and Her Knight, and was a featured actress in Watch the Sunset and Girls in Prison.

We invite friends and family to attend on June 3, 2023, at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan, Utah 84321. Her ashes will be interred next to her mother and father on the Dawson Family Plot in the Weston, Idaho Cemetery after the funeral service at 11 a.m. Cathy leaves behind her son Nicholas, daughter Danaea-Rachael, and four grandkids.
