Mark Batista Obituary- Everyone Pay Tribute and Honoring to Brave Firefighter

Firefighter Mark Batista with the New York City Fire Department pἀssed away on Friday, 9 June, while attempting to save his daughter from drowning in New Jersey.

The firefighters all stood at attention as the FDNY carried his flag-draped casket through the streets. During a difficult moment, he handed a ceremonial fire helmet to his wife, Leann.

Batista, 39, perished on June 9 in Avon-by-the-Sea, California, after jumping in to save his teenage daughter from a rip current. He worked for Brooklyn’s Engine 226 as both a fireman and an EMT. The FDNY was to deliver a memorial firefighter helmet and condolence note to Batista’s widow and three children.

At Avon by the Sea on Friday, Batista was pulled from the water. Dad dived into the water to save his daughter, who was 11 years old, after she was sucked into a rip current.
