Rain and Wind Are Expected to Come Back to San Diego County

The National Weather Service predicts that rain and wind will return in force to San Diego County on Friday and Saturday.

Precipitation of varying intensity will likely move east and south across the region on Friday morning, with the heaviest downpours expected later that night. According to forecasters, the rain is likely to continue into Saturday morning.

Half an inch to an inch of rain is forecast near the coast, an inch to an inch and a half in the mountains, and a quarter of an inch or less in the high desert, with even less likely in the lower desert, according to NWS.

Southwestern to western winds with gusts up to 40 mph are forecast for the mountains and deserts through Saturday. Meanwhile, NWS predicts the highest winds will be in the lower desert slopes on Friday morning, with up to 60 mph gusts.
